Diced Cap Events - " Making Dreams Come True " - Dates to follow
| This year, the Diced Cap Charitable Trust has decided to do something a little different, and something definitely worthwhile.There are Charities which organise “wishes” for children with life limiting illnesses and disabilities but none have done this from the North East of Scotland. Something like this has never been attempted by an “independent” charity in Scotland before, so we came up with the idea of a three day trip to Disneyland, Paris for children from the Grampian and North East of Scotland. We are looking to take about 40 to 45 families from the North East, all of whom have a terminal illness or a special needs child. They will board an aircraft at Aberdeen Airport and fly to Paris for an unforgettable trip to Disney Land Paris. Once there they will meet all their favourite Disney characters. They will have the freedom to roam the park, enjoy the rides and amusements and a chance to soak up the magical atmosphere that only the Disney Corporation can create. |

Sadly, for some of the children, this may be one of their last trips, so it is down to us to make it as enjoyable and magical as possible. The Trustees of Diced Cap have unanimously agreed that this is such a worthwhile cause that the entire year’s fundraising activities will go towards sending these children, and their families, to Disneyland.
The basic trip will cost about £70 000, but we want to make this special. We want to give the children
T- shirts, hats, anything that will help them remember this for as long as they can.

A breakdown of costs working on a basis of 45 families are as follows:
Accommodation with Bed and Breakfast, Disney Park Entry with 2 Day Park Hopper and Private Return Transfer from Aberdeen Airport to Disney Hotel New York (4 star)
Family of 4 based on 2 adults & 2 children = £536
Therefore 45 family/4 = total cost £24,120
Flight Costs from Aberdeen to Paris CDG - inc. passenger taxes and charges
£34,800 for aircraft and all operating costs and standard catering (Based on aircraft to carry 189 passengers)
£8,235 passenger taxes and charges
Grand Total = £43,035
Travel insurance
Families can travel and will be covered under the new British Medical Health Card that replaces the old E11 for free but this will mean that if any child/family needs ex-patronisation after our flight has left Paris CDG we would need to take the cost of their flights. This would still be cheaper than insuring the whole group.
